In one-on-one or group classes, Robin Bennett Stein will teach:

  • Electric guitar technique on acoustic or electric guitar (your choice)
    • Lead guitar (solos)
    • Rhythm guitar (chord progressions)
    • 12-bar blues (as root structure of most rock n roll classics)
  • Singing (lead and back-up vocals) and the art of the serenade
  • Rock guitar fundamentals:
    • Bar chords
    • Rhythm fills
    • Hot licks and killer riffs
    • Rudimentary picking
  • How to jam on your ax and improvise lyrics
  • Rock star attitude in performance
  • Basic harmonica (since the harmonica is a key element in several classics)
  • Basic tambourine and maraca

Bennett will teach from the following handpicked tracks because they teach elemental roots guitar basics and call for spirited performance, yet leave room for personal interpretation – the crux of what Bennett Stein imparts to the performer-in-training.

NOTE: Bennett Stein is also serious about teaching each student their favorite tunes. A blend of new material with classic sturdy old school numbers that impart the fundamentals is really the best way to go if we're interested in empowering the next generation of well-rounded troubadours with a full complement of musical chops, that is.
